Region
Bombe Lot 70 originates from the verdant, elevated valleys of Bensa, a district renowned for its coffee-growing legacy. Generations of traditional cultivation practices have established this area as a global icon for specialty coffee. The region’s dedication to quality has earned its coffees a place in the hearts of roasters seeking vibrant and unique flavor profiles.
Terroir
The terroir of Bensa creates the perfect conditions for extraordinary coffee. High altitudes ranging from 2000 to 2220 meters, soils, and two distinct rainy seasons work in harmony to nurture coffee cherries with organic precursors necessary to form complex cup profile.
Varieties
The exceptional flavors of Bombe Lot 70 are a result of its unique blend of 74158, 74112, and Mikicho varieties. Mikicho, in particular, shares a close relationship with the legendary Gesha variety and contributes its larger cherries, subtle floral notes, and tropical fruit highlights to the cup.
Processing
The natural processing method amplifies the coffee’s inherent sweetness and fruit-forward profile. After the hand-sorting, cherries are dried slowly on raised beds under the sun, allowing to develop the flavors of the fermentation which are nicely combined with the distinct terroir of the varieties.
Lot 70
Numbers refer to tables (African beds) which were used to dry a particular batch of cherries.
In this case it was 70th table to separate the result from the other coffees and avoid averaging the quality.
