ABOUT GITITU
The Gititu Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) proudly operates the Gititu Factory, located in Gitunduri, Kiambu. The name 'Gititu' is derived from the Kikuyu language, meaning 'large forest,' paying homage to the once-thriving woodlands of the Kiambu region.

Established in 1954, Gititu FCS is recognized as one of the oldest cooperative societies in Kiambu. The Gititu Factory was built in 1957 and, today, the cooperative manages eight factories, serving around 5,000 dedicated members. The enduring success of Gititu Factory is rooted in the cooperative’s steadfast commitment to transparency and effective communication.

To actively engage its members in the coffee-selling process, Gititu FCS invites them to participate in auctions at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange. This initiative allows members to witness the sale of their coffees firsthand, deepening their understanding of the selling process.

Through careful processing, Gititu Factory strives to produce exceptional coffees that reflect the dedication and expertise of its members and staff.
